Hims and Hers

The decline continues. Amazon has "Hims and Hers" hair products on sale. Just like those "Idiot" and "Dummies" how-to books, I wouldn't buy those hair products because of the name alone. (Not that I have a need for hair products.)

Then there is “Ladies” versus “Men” (or “Mens” or “Mens’” or “Men’s” [or “Gents”]) in restroom labeling.

On 16 September 1995, my pronoun became "CHIEF". That is all. Carry on.

In 1978 I made E7, in the Air Force it was MSgt. At the time I was stationed at Norfolk in a joint service outfit and began to understand some of the differences in the services view of certain ranks.

So do transgender people flip a coin or do they need to buy both?

I understand that they qualify under "and".

Yep, I can relate to the rank thing. I was assigned to Andersen AFB, Guam, on the northern end of the island. At the southern end was a huge Navy base. I was a captain, Air Force type, and when I had to call the Navy base I got all kinds of attention and assistance. Unfortunately, there was a time or two when a captain (Navy type) called my office, and the call was taken by a young airman who didn’t know, or understand, the difference! Ooops.

Didn't that depend on the size of the boat?

One thing that was always misunderstood is the effective rank of the MP on duty. It is that of the Commanding Officer of the Post.

I find it amusing how these products meant for 'him' or for 'her' (shampoo, razers, etc.) are designed to appeal to this or that sensibility. Pastel colors and delicate shapes for one, steel grey and chunky for the other.

It's pretty obvious that business is doing anything they can to make an extra buck or two!

That's for sure.
Remember the "Blue vs pink" disposable razors? Same products.
Retailers raised the price on the pink ones, ladies bought the blue one.
Barrel of overstocked pink ones went on sale- great discount! Bought handfuls.
El Wifo thinks it's funny-
she has new blues, I still use the dozen or so 10 packs I still have left.

I thought 'hims' were sung in churches, and 'hers' was used in funerals.
