Ever notice that only sick people watch the news on major channels on TV (if you watch at all) Just about every commercial is for medication ! ugh

And doncha just laugh when a drug commercial for say a drug called "Zylochlor" says in its disclaimers: "Don't take Zylochlor if you're allergic to Zylochlor!" Well, duuhhh!

Yes… they all have that disclaimer. Guess they think all their customers are idiots… but assume they can read and follow instructions.

I was at Camp LeJeune from 1969 to 1972. Fortunately I have had no signs or symptoms indicating any of the conditions. Another plus, Having been there I am eligible for VA benefits which I accept to the degree of a check up or two each year and I can get eye glasses and hearing aids through them. I do sympathize with those who have the conditions and hope they can get the help and treatment they need and deserve. As for the lawyers, I think they get too big of a piece of the pie in situations like this. In a large scale clas action such as this will become, they would do very well with only a 5% cut of the total, and that would be extremely generous.

They are not all from the same law firm. It's lawyers competing against lawyers for their shares of the spoils. When a class action starts many other lawyers join the fray and add their clients. Many of the ads even say you will be represented by someone other than the advertiser, but the advertiser will get his/her cut.

That is my point, the number of lawyers sctive in the class action will far exceed the number of plaintiffs and if the lawyers get 1/4 to 1/3 of each person's award, they will be the ones making the most out of someone else's loss or tragedy. I'd rather see 90 to 95% of the overall award going to 50 or 60K plaintiffs than 25 to 33% of it going to maybe 50 or 75 lawyers. Those are random numbers but I think you get my point.

You are a first for me, I have never heard of a Marine referring to himself as a serviceman...Semper Fi.

Well, if you hear a marine referring to himself as a serviceman, it still might be a first. I wasn't a marine, but an army deep sea diver. I was there on TDY assignment in 1974.

I'm not an attorney but as I understand it, a group of lawyers or legal firms form a coalition to research legal issues which are prospects for class action lawsuits. When a good one is found, they file a class action suit and if they've done their homework, they win the suit and a huge cash settlement is developed. All that's left is to find the maximum number of people affected and get them to join the class. They've already won so the only thing left is to prove they are a member of the class so they can collect. But the attorneys get 30-40% of the everyones claim. But it just a return on ther original investment of developing the suit in the first place. Not justifying this but that's the way it is. Camp LeJunne is the latest version of asbestos.

About a couple of months ago, I saw the first such commercial for Camp Lejeune from some law firm wanting your case. After that, the number of commercials from a bazillion different law firms have proliferated to the point that they are about as annoying as the Medicare Advantage commercials.

Must be pretty big $$$$ for the law firms wanting for a "victim" to sign up with them!

And to top it off, it also appears that many of these Camp Lejeune commercials, are not from the law firm directly (even though a "lawyer" pitches it), but if you're able to quickly read the small print at the bottom, it comes rather from some referral company who gets paid for each referral.
Is anyone sick of the TV commercials for "Cam... (show quote)
