Is anyone sick of the TV commercials for "Camp Lejeune" toxic water lawsuit?
About a couple of months ago, I saw the first such commercial for Camp Lejeune from some law firm wanting your case. After that, the number of commercials from a bazillion different law firms have proliferated to the point that they are about as annoying as the Medicare Advantage commercials.
Must be pretty big $$$$ for the law firms wanting for a "victim" to sign up with them!
And to top it off, it also appears that many of these Camp Lejeune commercials, are not from the law firm directly (even though a "lawyer" pitches it), but if you're able to quickly read the small print at the bottom, it comes rather from some referral company who gets paid for each referral.

Yes, I am sick of all the commercials and also the daily emails. Most go straight to the spam folder but about 1 or 2 per day slip through and wind up in my inbox that I send to the spam folder.
Way too over done just like the car warranty phone calls.

Here is how I think of lawyers;
'99% of lawyers, give the rest a bad name'!!!
Nope! I am one of those servicemen that were there and exposed to the contamination. I found out about the water contamination issue thru pure happenstance, so I knew about the health risks before the lawsuits became ubiquitous. I also have fellow divers that are experiencing cancers. Unknown whether its linked to Camp Lejune or not. But the military doesn't have a stellar record of responding to veterans needs under these types of circumstances, so it falls to the courts to sort this stuff out. The water contamination occurred over many years, so there were a lot of servicemen exposed. The legal advertisements help bring the word to those that actually need the help. Yes, the law firm may get a 1/3 cut of the recovered proceeds, but that's no different than any other lawsuit that's taken on a contingency basis.

I am not disputing the need for awareness or the military shortfalls (my husband died of lung cancer exacerbated by agent orange) when it comes to healthcare.
My issue is with the number of times these commercials are aired (every commercial break) and the number of times per day I receive an email (8 today and it's only 1:30 pm)

They want to make sure they can get every possible money grubber they can so they get their cut of the pie.
Sorry about your husband.
I have a high school friend who lost her husband a few years ago to the effects of Agent Orange.

Thank you, Longshadow; I appreciate it. I'm so sorry for your friend's loss. Give her a hug from me when you see her next.

Getting these on tv and in my email. Very annoying. AS for the Medicare commercials, I think they find the most annoying and phony people to do those adds.

Doesn't this fall under the same pattern as the thousands of voicemails we all get. There is no fix. It is just another pita we all experience every day.
Me, too. Doesn’t some one or some entity have records of the people who were stationed there? Just contact them directly and stop cluttering me mailbox. These emails go straight to spam, but they just keep coming.
