I heard of that place somewhere, but you’ve brought it to mind and we will try it. Thanks.

Thanks. The lens advice from the Hogs has been consistent and helpful. I am a golfer and would love to take your suggestion. My wife isn’t playing and I fear she will have a conniption if I take my clubs. Seems a shame to miss the golf out there.

Thanks. I’ll bring my Ricoh GR, but I don’t think I can resist taking an SLR and at least a couple of lenses.

Thanks. I think I’m persuaded to take a compact and an SLR with a couple of lenses along the lines you suggest.
I appreciate all the advise I’ve gotten from UH members. Remarkably helpful website.

Here are a few of the shots I took this year, these are only 350 out of over 17,000 shots I took. More are to come and some of the better ones are yet to be posted. Hope this gives you some ideas and what lenses I used. I am just getting to some of the Kauai photos.

Any suggestions for lenses? I have both Oly and Fuji cameras and lenses.

Thank you.

Fuji 16-80 and a 100F.

I was there last year, I took 2 cameras, Nikon Z5 and Nikon Zfc.
I took the following lenses, the Nikon Z 24-70mm f4 FF, the Nikon Z-DX 50-250mm, Nikon Z DX 16-50 mm f3.5-6.3 VR, Sigma 10-20 mm f3.5 FF.
I used the 24-70 and 16-50 most of the time.
I used the Sigma when I was at the Volcano.
The Z DX 50-250mm I used for Birds, whenever I needed more reach.
I also took an Nikon Z Artisan manual lens, 50 mm f1.2 APS-C, I used mostly at night or low light.
Have a good trip!

I was at both of those locations in March of this year. I took quite a few lenses, but the ones I used almost exclusively were the 24-105 and 100-400. I used the 24-105 for everything general and the 100-400 for surf, whales and birds. When I got back home I immediately purchased the Tamron 35-150 because if I'd had it it would have allowed me to get some shots the I missed for not having the right lens on at the right time (primarily on boats and helicopters).
