Worse than being rude is being wrong. The original study on fat was false as the data was cherry picked. Recent studies and review of the full data in the original study show that fat in your food does not result in heart problems. In diabetics, it actually produces a lower spike of insulin (which is good) than most foods containing carbs.

How about this basic rule of thumb: A hell of a lot less meat & processed foods -- try eating a bunch more veggies & grains & yes get off your butt & do something

PS: Having a Rude Doc. could save your life

Yes, this (restrict meat and eat grains) has been the rule of thumb for the past 50 - 60 years. Unfortunately what it has produced is an epidemic of obesity and diabetes together with their related complications.

Both my parents were farmers. They ate bacon and egg for breakfast, meat in their mid-day meal and often meat at dinner. They both died prematurely from lower bowel cancer, that has not been mentioned here.
Red meat – such as beef, lamb and pork – is a good source of protein, vitamins and minerals, and can form part of a balanced diet. But eating a lot of red and processed meat increases your risk of bowel (colorectal) cancer.

That's why it's recommended that people who eat more than 90g (cooked weight) of red and processed meat a day cut down to 70g or less. This could help reduce your risk of bowel cancer.

Can you provide the research studies that prove a causal link between red and processed meat to colorectal cancer? Also, who is recommending the 70g or less consumption? What studies are they basing this limit on?

Along Doctor info, there was a study a couple of decades ago that I believe still hold true to today:
"Most doctor's visits involve a least partial nudity".

So the recommendation was to make sure your Doctor keeps all his clothes on..........

I have no intention of getting into a protracted discussion with you or anyone else over this.
It seems to me that if you were genuinely interested in research into this topic you would have checked it out on the Internet where the simplest of searches will show many research studies with plenty of empirical evidence confirming the link between red meat and lower bowel cancer.

As with most things in life...moderation is the key.
Eating meat proteins is very good for you ..in moderation.
So is fat...the most pliable form of food energy which your body...adores. In moderation.

Veggies...same. Though you have to eat a heck of a lot more if trying to replace meat.
It also takes more acreage. Again...you need it...in moderation.
