There are a number of threads on them. Try the "Search" up above. The consensus seems to be that they are a risky proposition.

Back in the 1970's they were major players in photography. I bought lots of things from them, both online and in person. Sorry, make that "by phone." We didn't have online back then. They had good products at good prices and stood behind their sales. I remember that they had a very small store, but they must have had a huge warehouse.

There isn't a business in the world that hasn't garnered a few negative comments. As I said, my experience with 47th St goes back over 30 years, with no recent purchases. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them.

I had similar experience back then...but I think it may have been 42nd St. There is some confusion and at least one of them, although having the same name, is a different opertaion.

Hey Pappy,

I'm from NYC and they are just as good as BandH Photo. They are definitely not as big as BandH, but I would buy from them also. They were always very good.

They are definitely not as big as BandH, but I would buy from them also. They were always very good.

I agree. J&R is another outfit in NY that I have bought considerable items from and never had an issue.
