Truly an inspiring story.
Here is a photo of Lucy. She was a Border Collie Australian Cattle Shepherd mix. She was a wonderful Service Dog who would love to go to Nursing Homes and Hospices. She would like for give people the affection they needed. We adopted her from Mustard Sandwich 15 years ago. She passed away and is waiting for us in Heaven.
Eight years we adopted Bentley from North Shore Animal Rescue. We saw this tiny white albino Labrador. Knowing that albinos have a harder time in the sun than most dogs we took him in. About a month later there was some black spots on his belly. We took him back to the vet only to learn he was a Lab Dalmatian mix. Now eight years later he is all white on his back with black spots on his belly.
Truly an inspiring story. br br Here is a photo... (

For sure that will be done.
Wonderful story! It's amazing how much we love our dogs and cats. As you may already know, a therapy dog and a service dog are different. Although a dog could go to school and be both. After I received Ziggy at ten week, I waited a few weeks and put him in a puppy class before he had all his shots. Then he went into the Star program, then the Canine Good Citizen, then Advanced Canine Good Citizen, and Urban Canine Good Citizen. He then had five courses in Therapy Dog before he was old enough to be excepted in Service Dog School. After he graduates from service dog school I'll be putting him back in therapy school. He just loves to learn and please me. We have a very interesting relationship that I wouldn't trade for anything. He watches me like a hawk. I'm a disabled vet from Vietnam with PTSD among other things. We couldn't be a better team.

Bruce, we can identify with you regarding dogs. When Jean and I came North in 2010 from Mexico we came with 15 dogs, all with their medical certificates, and the US Border official was amazed. He called out from his booth to his colleague in another booth: “Hey Jake, there’s a guy here with 15 dogs!” When I said that we had the medical paperwork for each dog the official waved us through mumbling something about not having time to go through all the documents.
Now we are down to 4 dogs, one of whom, little Pedi, is very sick with a failing liver. Jean has been looking after Pedi, as she does with all our failing dogs, with incredible love and dedication.
So, dear Bruce, thank you for that latest piece of information. May Jean and I wish you so much good fortune.
Hi "BR",
Again, I wish you two the very best in the years to come. Please keep us UHH'ers as to how things are progressing.
Thanks so much for the nice reply! They always seem to make my day. Like the end to a very cordial conversation.
