I wish to purchase a backup for my DSLR Canon T2i. There are so many out there, Sony Nex Fugi, Panasonic, ETC. I trust Canon, 30D, 50D, T2i, Film also. Any help appreciated. Regards Walt Rowand.
I have a G10 and seldom use my T1i. The G10 is just a great camera. The best thing about it is you can put it to your eye. It reminds me of my leica film camera. I got a 50mm view finder that I put in the flash shoe, do not use the zoom and it is great. When using the 50mm view finder you cannot use the internal flash. You can do so much with the camera it is amazing. take time to read the manual and get the Magic Lantern Guide for the camera. Go to the canon site and look at the information on the G12. It tells a lot.
I have used the canon G10 for my trips. I have taken it around the world. It is a sturdy wonder and does not dissapoint even in low light. This camera you can control with its many options.I have found no need to upgrade to the G11or G12. If you want to leave your dslr home and have pocketable camera this is for you. I do not think you can go wrong with the G12
I've had a G9 for several years...only quibbles with it are the eyepiece parallax and noisy higher ISOs. Other than that, the perfect camera. G12? Go for it!
