I have all my Minolta 35mm cameras in a lawyer cabinet: SRT-101, SRT-201, XG1, XG7, HTsi.
I enjoyed using them all until the digital world made them obsolete.

My recollection from decades ago is that the shutter is a separate, self contained unit (likely purchased by Minolta from some supplier) that can be easily removed by unscrewing the lens. It might be worth taking it out and seeing if that unit or the mechanical mechanism to “trip” it is the source of your problems, and if so, is there a simple fix. As others, my sense is that if it is not very easily fixed, don’t waste money on it.

Depends- on year, make and model.
The shutter could be a copy of a Leica.
I like this guy. Pay him some $$

I can use it if you still have it?
I'm setting some older cameras up for a museum in central Texas and this one would be perfect.

Thanks for all the responses but the museum gets the prize (and 2 others that I have for the collection).

I inherited an old Minolta A 35mm film camera. The film advance arm doesn't work and the shutter trip doesn't work. Photos attached. Is this museum worthy? What use is better than my recycle bin?

I repair film cameras and give them to high school or college students that want to shoot film. I am interested in rescuing this camera.

Thanks for the suggestions and offers but I originally wanted them to go to a museum and that's the offer I'm sticking with....and I'll pay the postage.

You guys/gals are great but sometimes I'm overwhelmed with the responses to simple questions. I shouldn't be surprised because there are thousands of you out there.
