I believe that. And, I just got my property tax re-assessments. Guess what? Up again. Some years ago, our state capped property tax rates, and folks thought that was wonderful. What they forgot was all county officials had do do was raise assessments, so they have done, almost yearly.

Where I live we can challenge assessment and I've been doing that since I retired in 2010, Right now my assessment is 39,000 and my 6 month cost is a little under $250.00. Go to your property tax people and challenge your assessment. Also have with you everything you need to support your position. I used a diseased tree in the back yard and some masonry work on the front porch as part of my argument. In the past I've used the bad real estate that we saw in 2009.

I do that constantly, to no avail. The county need its money, so they take it.

Sounds good -- looked at the link and the data looks appropriate.

There sure as hell won’t be any downward reassessments in the near future with the stupid prices people have been paying over the past year or more.

Don't get me wrong -- This could actually be factual -- But on the other hand????

QUESTIONABLE SOURCE
A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency, and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact-checked on a per-article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the reasoning section for that source. See all Questionable sources.

Overall, we rate CNS News Questionable based on extreme right-wing bias, promotion of propaganda, and numerous failed fact checks.

Yep, taking a second look at the article I'm very suspicious of that healthcare cost figure. It's way way way too low. I know they referenced the Bureau of Labor Stats for the data but the data then is not appropriately reflective of reality. Hopefully there's an explanation at BLS somewhere but it needs to be factored in.

By their taxes, Americans have to pay for the Biden proxy war against Russia in Ukraine. Biden could've led the way for a broad coalition of world leadership to reach at least a cease-fire in the war. But no, he upped the conflict from a dispute over Ukraine joining NATO and threatening Russian security to a Western concern, with no end in sight. The mayhem of war continues, at great cost of lives and treasure.

The war powers act may apply here, allowing the Congress to regulate this matter with some sober sense guiding it. Otherwise, the prospect of the war traveling down a slippery slope may face the West.

Prices are too high because of greed and taxes are too high because too many people do not pay them. (renters)

Interesting responses here. Taxes are too high because renters don't pay them? Renters pay rent to landlords who use the rent to pay taxes, mortgages, upkeep, and build landlords' equity. What renters don't get is a tax deduction from their income tax for the property tax they pay through landlords.
Shouldn't be supporting Ukraine? Just ignore Putin's push to restore the USSR and the Russian Empire? Let him threaten all of Europe? Where to draw the line....
Don't get what we pay for? How about roads and bridges, defense, education....
