Even if we use our real names, how can we check up on people? I wouldn't have a clue how to find Ed Brown - except that he lives in Eastern Kentucky. That's a big area. Unless someone in the family has instructions to let us all know about one of our members, we still won't know should something happen.

Very good question AzPicLady. Well all it needs is a post from someone to ask because hopefully somebody will know something. Me, I do not have web site I did make a flicker but never go there and I do not know how to use it. I guess I just do take the time and actually do not care to. But, it is good to hear that OldHippy is Ok.

Just wondering how hard it would be to get it changed. I have seen others succeed so it can't be too difficult. If we had a name, we could at least look to see if they are on FB or Instagram or somewhere so we could check there to see if there are any notices.

Thanks for this, I have noticed his absence and have been wondering how he is doing. Good to hear he is just busy and will be posting again, I love his work.

Bruce, I am not sure how you came to the conclusion that my "tongue in cheek" remark was aimed directly at you. I will say in this day and age, I can understand what some people might not want their name out there available for easier access. This isn't a matter of courage, but more one of not wanting another issue to take care of. I will say that I agree about having a common bond with many of the contributors on this forum. I have often thought that I would like to be a quiet witness to a conversation among some of the old regulars.

Oh my gosh Brother 1000 pardons please I did not in anyway take the conclusion that any remarks or aimed at me absolutely not at all not at all please believe me. I guess I was just bored after a few beers and was just commenting on it was just one of those days when I decided to step out instead of being a quiet observer myself and just thought I would chime in on it. So please no I did not in anyway take it as anything aimed at me I guess I liked what you said and I was agreeing with it and I was just popping my mouth off before I thought about what I should write anyway I apologize if I came across that way but I did not mean that at all but again that’s my stand most of the time is just being a quiet observer cause usually somebody else is already said what I would.

I hope you don't mind, but I remember seeing the photograph you shared of your father and how I thought it was a great character study, whether or not I shared this with you in a response. Starting with your name, I was able to trace your family line back Texas before the Civil War, into Alabama, then to North Carolina, up to Virginia then over to Essex England. This includes fourteen generations starting with a John Blackwell in the mid 1500's. I would be surprised if you haven't done your family history, or are at least aware of it, but the Blackwell part of it, at least, is worthy of study. I did not inquire into any other aspect of your life and won't, but this does illustrate how with one's real name, there is much information that could be gleaned. My named line also came very early from England , but from further west and south. I hope this finds you well.

Bob, I don't know, but I was thinking that if you or someone had a message or response of hers that could be called up, a private inquiry could be made. I hadn't been aware of her absence, but now that you mention it, it does seem like it has been awhile since she has been on.

She was on almost daily and managed “close ups”. She seemed to have a ton of friends. I don’t like this at all. Hope someone sees this and can shed some light on her disappearance.

Hi Bob, if you click on your name or any name, you will be taken to where you can see how many messages you have made and how many you have responded to, or that information for anyone. At that top of that page is a list categories, including "user list". If you click on that you have an option on either entering the user's name or their location. I entered in Dixiegirl in the "user box". Donna's name came up. It looks like her last post was June 27, 2020. However she made a response, I think, to napabob on Feb. 8, 2021. Abo of Australia made a comment several months later in Nov of 2121, but did not receive a response. Considering how active she was, 353 messages and 62, 194 responses, not having anything posted for well over a year does not bode well. I took a look at her work and remembered that I had enjoyed it. She was invariably friendly, helpful and gracious in her replies. I guess we could try a "wondering about you" private message. What do you think?

I went to Donna's website and posted a message in the "contact us." I tried to figure out if she was still posting to her private website. It appears not.
