It's time for more "Canon" fodder. These Canon vs. Nikon threads are a waste of time. They never go anywhere and never convince anyone. It just comes down to the fact that people like what they like. I am glad that there are still choices. To each his own. Sometimes peoples' preferences change. I have shot Canon in the past, still shoot Nikon when I shoot film, and shoot Olympus (OM System) for digital.

Omg! How mindless can a photographer get?

I am an Architect that likes to take snapshots, look at my numerous posts of photos.
From those you can definitely determine that I am not a photographer but truly enjoy taking snapshots as a hobby.

Could not agree more. It's incredible how these debates deteriorate to the point of childish insults.

Like I've said before, I did a lot of research, a lot of reading before I bought my first camera. Narrowed it down to four. Walked into a camera shop and asked to look at all four. The Canon AE1-P for me was the most comfortable in my hands, the easiest to find my way through the menus, and the most likely for me to grab and take with me. It followed me home. Took a lot of photos with that camera. I've handled many other brands since then. Nothing has changed my mind since. I'm on number six.

Now other people like the feel and logic of other brands. Viva la difference. Far be it from me to try to convince them otherwise.

Oh well the menu! Uhm... Canon AE1P menu?

Everyone has a photographic memory. Most don't have any film loaded.

Luckily, I am an amateur and do not know enough to comment.

Yeah! I didn't take the inventory but I have near 40 35mm cameras. None has film loaded.

I'm kind of partial to my Hasselblad 500/cm, Leica m7 and Leica m10 monocrom. What's my state of mentality, doc? It seems to be chronic and acute. What's the prognosis doc?

Folks usually stick with the brand they started with unless of course it goes out of business

Yep, my 1st 35mm camera was a Miranda which I was very fond of. Alas they went under and my 2nd camera was the Canon F1 back in 75, and I've stayed with them ever since.
