In my more than 55 years photographing I never had to send a Nikon camera for repairs. I started photographing with Nikon in 1963 and I still use them. I bought a Canon, I believe it was the 30D, and I never felt comfortable with that camera. I then bought a D100 and to me it was superior.
I agree with the gentleman that stated we should use what makes us comfortable and fits our photography style. Camera and lenses are only tools.
Lucky you. My D750 was recalled twice.
But I've never had to send in a Panasonic camera.

Yikes! The brand wars are back. In the end, they are all cameras that take pictures. Have fun doing that.
So true, so true. The choice of camera is a personal choice, whether it be the manufacturer, film or digital, (D)SLR or mirrorless, full or cropped sensor or medium format and so many other distinctions. The most important thing about any camera: is the photogtrapher happy with it and the photos?

I shoot Olympus, Panasonic, and Nikon. Or rather, I used to shoot Nikon. I just can't get interested in them; their user interface is just too pathetic.

I have shot Nikon since 1971. The oldest lens I own is a F mount 13.5cm 3.5 Nikkor c.1963. Which I purchased used as my first 135mm. My first 50mm 1.4 was also purchased used - made in 1969. They mount and operate on my Z9. Kinda clunky but works correctly. And on my Z7, Z6, D850, D200, and my F. Most of my AF, AF D and previous lenses will mount and operate manually on the F. Even the old F mount intrusive fisheyes will (mostly) mount and operate properly on the Z camera’s. I’m annoyed that my screw AF lenses don’t autofocus on the Z series with the FTZ. But otherwise they work fine.
During the same time period Canon has had the following lens mounts:
1959 R
1964 FL
1971 FD
1987 EF
2003 EF-S (EF compatible)
2012 EF-M
2018 RF (EF lenses can be adapted for the the R camera’s.).
I went with Nikon originally because the Canon FL to FD mount change seemingly left the FL user base abandoned. More specifically, the FD used market was non-existent.
That was then. To give Canon it’s due were I to have started serious photography in 1991 or later I might have gone with them. They’re offerings have always been impressive.

I went with Canon starting with a FTb. Very rugged and simple. Got it in Panama while taking a break for a few days from Colombia. I did get a Nikon F but found it too fidgety and seemed archaic compared to the FTb. Still have the Nikon and a few lenses. Added a F-1 and a couple of lenses until I saw the EOS system while working at TCR in Tempe, AZ.
Blew me away compared to the other archaic mechanical screw drive systems. It was twenty-first century in 1988.
Saved my pennies as a poor college student then intern (Raising a family as well) and finally got the 10D which I still have. Now the R system has confirmed that was a brilliant move as ALL my EF(s) lenses are 100% compatible unlike Nikon and I can now use ALL my R, FL and FD lenses. Real sweet.
Other cameras are well made but they now still lack the superior AF that everyone knows is the best available.
That said if you like what you have, fine, your money and justification and go forth and take pictures.

Durability.
I have my original F, 1967, in good working order. I have never worn out a Nikon. I have worn out parts in two Canons. I do like the Canon point and shoots better.
If it's not a Nikon; it's not a real camera.

But Nikon don't even make large format cameras (REAL cameras).
Sadly I can't afford to use mine

SLR Nikons with the F mount. I have had no familiarity with their rangefinder. Nor Nikon M39 or similar. I know most manufacturers made them at one time or another.

My El Nikkor enlarging lenses are screw mount & quite a bit later than 1959.
I had those and Schneider. But I was talking about camera lenses. Do any enlargers natively use bayonet or breach mount lenses from any era? I also still own a Nikon W 150 f/5.6. View Camera Lens on Copal Shutter for my 4x5" cameras.
