Be extremely careful with those deceptively beautiful berries. Regardless of them being red, black or blue, wild berries may harbor a hidden secret. Alkaloids are a plant’s way of protecting the seeds from consumption by birds, dogs or people. The photograph is delicious, don’t need to find out the bush or tree is not!
