While fishing in a mountain lake in Idaho, Meadow Lake, I noticed this butterfly landing right next to me. Actually there were a number of them landing right next to me. Take my picture, they shouted in unison. Well what could I do. I put down my fly rod and grabbed the Sony.
When I got home and looked at the photos on the computer I noticed some of these have 10 blue dots at the bottom of their wings while others did not. Maybe a male/female thing. I have no idea.

Why display all, display only the best one? The problem is which... My pick is #3 in which the yellow contrasts well with the red tones.
Some great images of a beautiful critter.

Well my friend it is simply a matter of MY choice to display all. Another reason is these are different butterflies, not just four photos of just one butterfly. My third reason, is to point out that two have the 10 blue dots on the tail while the other two do not. I sincerely thank you for stopping by to take a look and make a comment.
