That's some house! Are the windows all gone, or did they never put glass in them?
It does look like construction ceased at some point, not to be resumed.
You call this "great grandfather's house". Are you referred to your great grandfather or is the name given locally to this house. Do you know approximately when it was built? I enjoyed seeing the old piece of farm machinery. I have an old mower that looks very similar. I wonder if there were originally trees at the site? Thanks for sharing.
It really doesn't appear to have been finished or occupied.
The location is all privet property just outside of Zion National Park, no public access.
Looks to be a very well built structure Peter. Nice shots.

It is actually
It is actually my wife's Great Grandfathers home; it was built in the 1860s and lived in until 1902.

That is neat. I hope there are some photographs dating from that time. I would hope that there were more trees around at that time. I also wonder about the availability of water.

...Feels a bit nostalgic, Peter...Good photos.
If you look closely you can see a bridge and stream. This would be a wonderful B&B….or a place for a modern day western movie! What gorgeous scenery. I keep looking at the photos and showing them to my friends. Just unbelievable. Thanks for sharing.
