I was visiting my brother in his rural VT summer cabin, It's always a treat to see him since he lives in the Seattle area (long story). We always find some project to do together and this time it was cleaning out his shed. A friend of his from Albany stopped by and made this comment, I had to share it. Shot with my iPhone 11 pro and processed with Snapseed.

Don't let the grill get too cozy with that outboard motor.

Oh yeah, that is a 40HP Johnson (long shaft?), we got a lot of comic mileage out of that too! It is at least 50 yo, shed stored all it's life and not run for at least 30 years. While I was there it was sold for $35.

Years ago, while I was in college, I worked at a shop that sold and serviced stuff like that. I built an 80 HP Johnson from a collection of old and new parts and ran it on a 16 foot fiberglass speed boat. That boat was pretty fast for only 80 HP.

The last time that motor saw water was 30 years ago when I spent three days of my vacation trying to get it running. I never succeeded and it was sent to the barn, from there it went to my brothers shed. When my sister in law found out it was still there, it was get rid of it one way or another.

Not to worry - that ladder is a corporate ladder the grill's about to climb...

😉

A little small maybe. I like sheds that you don't have to remove everything up front to get to the stuff in the back.

My dad's greenhouse shed did; well, a glass roof.

That depends on how you fill the shed. I have two that are beyond full, but I can still get to what I want. One came as a kit from Lowe's. That was a fun build. The other one was delivered on a flatbed. All I had to do was get a load of crushed stone and level a site for it.

You gotta love Snapseed! Snapseed is the most fun you can have on your phone or iPad with your clothes on! 😀
