Does anyone have any good advice or class recommendations for learning off camera flash? Or suggestions for what to buy (on a budget, maybe?) I'm proficient bouncing my on camera godox wherever I want it, but need to figure out how to use it off camera. Thanks!

I’ve used a Yongnuo radio trigger system with my TTL flash with good results. Nothing fancy, just let the TTL figure out the exposure with camera settings on manual. Lots of YouTube videos but most are aimed at portraits and using umbrellas. I don’t get into that.

Neil Van Neikerk has books on flash photography and and an excellent website. I would begin there. He is an excellent instructor.

Flaspoint Mark 2 flash trigger works great for me. It's made by Godox, so it is compatible with your Godox flash.

The book "Understanding Flash Photography -- How to shoot great photographers using flash" by Bryan Peterson is an outstanding and most helpful book. I know Amazon carries it an other sources. I have given away many of my photo books that I do not use. However, this book is a GEM and I am keeping it!

I have that book. It's excellent. I like his technique for dealing with overexposure when the main subject is close to the flash. He puts both the camera and flash in manual mode and adjusts for the main subject and background separately. I saw a presentation that Bryan Peterson gave on flash photography at the Nature Visions Photography Expo in Virginia.

I bought my off camera flash equipment on Ebay. I use the Yongnuo triggers and the Yongnuo 410 flashes; the YN410s are fully manual so you must adjust them. I bought "cheap", lightweight, stands and umbrella holders. They all have held up well and are easy to transport. Start off with umbrellas and move on to larger boxes if you need them. Even though I have boxes and octoboxes, I still use my shoot through umbrellas for the majority of my shoot.

I found it helpful.

Since you already have a Godox flash, you might want to start with the X2T-N trigger (or the Strobepro equivalent). About $41. Then you can add a second strobelight, such as the TT685II or the non-TTL version, the TT600.

Many YouTube videos out there. Here are two to start with...
