No mention of Taylor Ham?? Also, NJ has the highest real estate taxes in the US.

True! And it also has one of the best education systems in the USA, paid for by taxes.
I've lived in NJ for 73 of my 85 years. Loved it the entire time.

I’ve been here 76 years and have experienced the good and the bad. The grass is always greener on the other side, right? The tax’s are high, education is there for you and we are close drive to Pa.,Catskills, seashore and lots of great places.

For sure. I live less than 10 minutes from horse and vegetable farms, 55 minutes from NYC, 40 minutes from the ocean and 20 minutes from the mountains. Not many locations can offer that diversity.

Dear Mark,

The reason that the education is so good is because of educators such as you ! Amen !

Sorry to disappoint Curmudgeon, but that baby we threw back in.Not big enough for us to keep around these parts.(Your recipe sounds good though) Tom

Great catch and photo.

Anytime I see a bottom feeder that big, I remember the channel catfish was had in Belize City where we lived for three years right after Elsie and I were married. They were the garbage system for the city, and no one ate them. Now the much smaller lake catfish I caught with a friend in New Hampshire right after our junior year in college, they were super delicious after we skinned them. --Richard

I owned a business and a house in North Jersey so it’s a battle to stay ahead.
