The centerpiece is the famous 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie card. It's expected to go for more than $10 million, and be the most expensive card ever sold. That is over my credit card limit. I guess I won't be bidding.

I wouldn't bid over 9 million myself.

I lost my bid on that Russian Oligarch's 27 million dollar yacht so I might take a chance on this. I'll put it on my American Express "Black Card"

I had two of them when I was a kid, along with a whole lot of other stuff.
My mom got rid of EVERYTHING that was in my closet while I was in the Navy. “Mom, I was on a friggin aircraft carrier, not in the jungle; I didn’t die!!!!!!”

I had a 1956 Mickey card in my collection as a kid. The whole collection got lost when we moved.

At a time in my youth, I must have had a dozen of the Mickey Mantle rookie cards, that we used to flip for more cards... Whatever happened to them is a lost memory!!!

I had that card. Got chewed up in my bicycle spokes. But, man, it sounded great for a minute or two.

I've often wondered how many guys put what could have been their fortunes on the spokes of their bicycles to make that sound when they were kids. I know that I was one of them in the fifties.

i didn't have that card, but a lot of other things that i would like to have now...my mom and pop dumped all my stuff while i was in the air force. they moved and had no way to cart a lot of things as they had no auto....i now see some of my "keepsakes" getting a few bucks on e-bay and other auctions....not near as much as that card....that card is a lot of money to pay for a piece of cardboard with picture.....
