Nothing like posting after Jules!

First varsity volleyball for 2022. I did a JV game but haven't processed those images yet!

Tried a few different things out of my comfort zone, like used my 400mm f2.8 (had a few keepers):

Pair of Canon R6's: ss 1/1000, iso auto (typically 5000 to 12800) f2.8
lens: Canon 70-200mm f2.8 III and Canon 400mm f2.8 IS II
I probably used Topaz sharpen AI on 5 of my Maxprep submissions but nothing for the photo's posted here.
I really liked how I could jump to any of the Topaz products from LR, very smooth.

Rick

Thank you for your comment! Shooting this sport is not the easiest, way too fast at times!

jaymatt,

not sure if volleyball is my favorite but it sure has a ton of action with players and fans. Most difficult to shoot in my opinion. Plenty of photo's went to the cutting floor.

Really nice work. This is a very hard sport, and usually dark gyms. You make it look easy

Love the shots of the setters

David,

Thanks for feedback. I didn't capture a bunch of the setters that day, obstructions, setters back was to me, photographer(me) being slow at times, focus etc. As you said very difficult in general to capture in dark gyms with the orange floors and lots of moving parts!
