Part of the pissing off problem is that tens of thousands of students didn't realize when the applied for the loan that they couldn't pay it off, and also banks would give out the loans for people who were a terrible risk, yet they knew that the government programs would bail them out.

College degree??? Are you telling me that every student who took a student loan went on to obtain a degree? I wonder how many borrowed thousands, many thousands and then dropped out of school. Any idea? Me neither but don't presume to tell me that every student went on to get a degree.

Oh one other thing. The principle is the same. The student wanted to attend school. I want to purchase a new Corvette. Neither of us has the money. Why should his wish be any more important than mine? Perhaps the student wanted to study advanced basket weaving or some thing just as ridiculous as trans people working in Pennsylvania coal mines. My dream at that point would be MORE important than his. Get a life francine or at least develop some common sense.

I will tell you how I feel about social security and medicare. I had money that I could have used at the time withheld from my pay for years to "invest" in those programs. The medicare insurance that I have which has to be supplemented with yet another policy, and the monthly dole that goes into my bank account every month is not a gift. It's return on investment. Unlike medicaid and welfare benefits which are disbursed freely to anyone who refuses to work but has the gumption to go apply for whatever benefits are available. The Veteran's Administration says I am 40% disabled, so I earned that monthly check too, but in another way. I have worked all my life and am quite happy being somewhat healthy and quite well fed. And I don't have to justify my standard of living to anyone.

I am sorry for the loss of your wife Frank, I really am, but how much of her medical expenses did Medicare pay for you?
