The original car from the TV series.
Great photos of a historic car. (Today's "Woke Generation" will want to change the name to the "General Grant"...)
A nice touch of memorabilia, mvetrano2. Let's not harbor any illusions though, shall we? According to Wikipedia (and other sources), "According to former cast member Ben Jones ("Cooter" in the show), as well as builders involved with the show, 325 General Lees were used to film the series. Others claim about 255 were used in the series. Approximately 17 originals still exist, although in various states of repair. On average, more than one General Lee was used up per show."
Still, it's an icon, albeit one that has drawn the ire of the current crop of offendenistas.

Or just "General"...
I had a black and orange Opel Manta Rally.
I should have put "1/2" on the doors....

Offendenistas.... I like that!
Nice series. When I saw the title, I was trying to think what I would see. My first though was a steam locomotive. I didn't watch the TV series.

And you can't see re-runs. The show was "pulled" from the air.

Nice set
A few years ago at the Arnold Days car show I talked to the guy who spent the length of the show procuring cars for the show, it was amazing how many cars were used, and not many survived.
Then we talked about my Ex, we both dated her
But that's another story.

People who are offended by the name need to get a life. That was part of history.

Ben Jones! One of the better Representatives in the the House. It took a remake of the House district to force him out and make room for Newt. Ben Jones' staff always replied to constituents letters. Newt's person just sent out form letters.
Many of the Lees ended up being totaled because of doing those "leaps".

There is a whole generation of guys out there who learned to truly appreciate cut off shorts, aka Daisy Dukes, because of this car.
Thank you!
