Libreoffice....Calc Spread sheet..Help

I found on here people recommending the freeware LibreOffice to use instead of Microsoft office. So I have down loaded it and started a spread sheet. I have recorded macro's in Excel with no problems. In LibreOffice I have located the check mark that allows me to record macros. I have also set the security for macros as low as it will go. I have saved the macros to the spreadsheet. With all of this done, I can not get the macros to run. I have tried simplistic macros to see if they will run, and they don't. Also I can not get the full menu of "form controls" to appear. I would appreciate any advice from you LibreOffice users that know your way around LibreOffice Calc and have any answers to fix these 2 issues. If the discussion needs to be move to private messaging so be it. Thanks in advance

Phil

I also use Libre and have been very happy with it. However, I mostly use Writer and not Calc the spreadsheet program. But, even with Writer, I often run into issues that take some study and persistence to get through.

I did find that there are some good documentation/manuals for all the Libre programs on the libre.org website. They are not included when you download the programs and have to be downloaded separately.

I only use the straight out spreed sheet for my side jobs I do . Nothing fancy like you do . Glad you got all the special things it can do figured out .Tommy

After 25 years fighting with Bill Gates and Windows, I DID learn one thing: If something doesn't work: Re-boot!
PS. . .I had a similar problem with LibreOffice last night. . .Lost a spread sheet that had been an hour or so in the making. . .A quick re-boot! And, all was well again in Computer Land! Even works on my iMac! <smile>

PS: the neat thing about it. . I have no idea why it went haywire; or, how it got fixed! And, I don't care! As long as it works 99% of the time. . .the other 1% hasn't happened yet. However, I KNOW that there are NO absolutes in the world! 1% is probably just waiting around the corner??? Have a good day!
