We were discussing photography instruction yesterday, and I mentioned CreativeLive and their videos about how to use specific cameras. I bought one about the Z6 and Z7, by John Greengo, for $14, and I started watching it. This video runs for about five hours, and it's absolutely amazing how much information there is about these two cameras. He doesn't cover every camera ever made, but he does have videos on the more popular ones. It's worth a look. That $14 was the sale price. In case you didn't know, CreativeLve runs several videos every day, and they're free to watch - or record.

Anything the manual doesn't tell you?

I find it more pleasant having a "live" person go through the controls and the Menu system. He also offers suggestions and opinions about settings. The manual is on my computer, so it's not as convenient as an actual book.

I generally do not appeciate opinions and suggestions. I want to know the features and decide for myself whether they are any usefull to me.

Thanks, Jerry. I just spent that last 1/2 hour checking out John Greengo @ CreativeLive on you tube. I can always use good info like this. I may buy the R6 pkg. at some point.

If the price drops, don't hesitate because their sales do end.

Likely not, but Gringo's tutorials are far better organized and offer a much clearer and more intelligible presentation of the facts -- how the camera features operate and what the various setting options do -- than any camera manual I've ever read. Plus it's not in 4 point type, 18 languages and 5 alphabets (not that I have anything against polyglots).

Thanks for the info. I just bought the class for the Sony A6500. Looking forward to it.

The worse "manuals" are those printed on a giant fold-out sheet in a dozen languages. I usually scan the English sections.

I bought and watched his tutorial (Z6ii/Z7ii) and found it very helpful. I had never taken videos before and found his video section particularly helpful.

Japanese translated word for word into Engli😂sh still makes about as much sense as Japanese to me.
