"making impressionist photos in camera" Is there a setting for "impressionistic"
My EXIF disappeared ?? so I could not tell what cameras you were using.

Certainly makes it so, creativity can now be done even before doing a download. Interesting.

No specific settings. I used a nikon z7ii, it has multiple exposure settings. I took between 4-5 shots and it blended them in camera. The tree was actually done with the iphone, where I walked around the tree, moving a bit 4-5 times, while keeping the trunk relatively in the same place. The app for that is called "average camera pro"

Thanks for dropping in and commenting. There were a lot of throw aways, but I like the effect

Interesting effects. I like the second one but somehow the first one lost its impressionism on me in the blur of the tree. I know it’s intentional, it’s just me that isn’t appreciative.

Thanks for dropping in and commenting. I hindsight the tree i chose was not ideal. I should have selected a single trunk without a visible branch. I am glad you liked the second one

Fran, I really enjoyed these, thanks for sharing your secret of multiple exposure. I've been to Butchart, but many years ago before photography came into my life. I remember it as being a wonderful subject for many photos and hope to get back there some day. Both of your images are very creative, thanks for sharing. Bev

Bev, thanks so much. I am glad you liked them. I followed up this post with another titled "follow up in camera impressionism" I give a more detailed description on how this is accomplished.

I went to a photo workshop this past week in Victoria (BC), featuring the Butchart botanical garden. It was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I have an incredible number of pictures to look at, and will post as I go along. One of the topics covered was making impressionist photos in camera. It was very interesting and these are my first attempts. Admittedly, I need a little more practice, but I truly enjoyed it. Thanks for looking
Fran

Nice! I REALLY like the second one.

Linda, I used multiple exposure feature with about 4 shots, and rotated the camera slightly each time
Fran

By rotation of the camera do you mean rotating around the axis of the lens, around the subject, or around the camera's position? Or is it all three?

If you are looking at number 2, rotate camera around the axis of the lens and click when you want

Bill, thanks so much. I am glad you liked it. Out of all of them, #2 was my favorite as well
