This amazing lens is the best lens I have seen for portrait and anything you want to shoot. I am just mot able to use it to its true potential. This should be owned by someone who does a lot of portrait shots. I paid overm2000 about 3 months ago. I have had it on the camera twice. I have the box and there is mot a mark on it. I am also selling a 200-500mm Nikon lens. I am asking 850.00 for this. I am 74, just had a bad fall and hurt my wrist. I think I’m kind of getting out of photography slowly. I may keep one camera and my 24-70 lens. I hope these will go to someone who will get the use out of them that they deserve.

I owned the 200-500 and sold it in favor of the 500 PF. It's a great lens but it was heavy to hand hold and I do BIF and found 95% of my work was at 500mm so the 500 PF being 2 pounds lighter and much sharper was the logical choice for me. BTW: $850 is a great price on the 200-500!
Sorry about your injury and best wishes on a speedy recovery. I am also 74 and us old folks get to be high maintenance.........lol!

I am getting out of photography a little as a time. I just can’t get around anymore. Makes me sad.

I totally am there with you. I love the outdoors but unfortunately physical frailty is an undeniable fact of life and it creeps is slowly for some and more rapidly for others. Of course there are other genres that don't require as much physical activity so some options are available if you want to remain in photography.
I noticed a mirrorless camera in one of the photos. What model is it?

Great price for the 200~500mm! If I didn't have two of them, I would jump on that in a heartbeat! I thought about the 500pf...just couldn't get past being stuck with one length, even though, like you, I use mine at 500mm most of the time. And I'm not going to spend the bucks for a 400mm or a 300mm when I already have great ones in one lens! I don't see the extra sharpness with the 500pf, my 200~500 is very sharp if I do my part. I'm 68 and have no problem with the extra 2 pounds, I do go to the gym every now and then!

Glad you are satisfied with the 200-500! I too frequent the gym but right now health issues won't allow it. Hope you never have to find out about physical frailty. At 68 my strength was still good but as I have aged health, balance, and health issues are rearing their ugly heads. I hope after six more years you can still make the same claims as now.

Blessings.

I can confirm that the 50/1.2 is an excellent lens as I have one. I did switch to the 500/5.6 PF for many reasons, but the 200-500 is a decent lens.

Why did you switch? I'm on the fence about it, mainly for $$$

I decided to switch at the end of the year and sold all my DSLRs in January soon after I received my first Z9. I had a pair of Z6s at the time as well as a few Z lenses. As a sports photographer I saw the incredible potential of the Z9. I consider the Z9 to be a D6 and D850 on a massive dose of steroids. If you wish to expand your questions, please PM me. Best of luck.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I was wondering why you switched to the PF f/5.6 from the 200-500.
