I usually use Photomatix Pro to put together my HDR shots, but just used ACR for the heck of it to see how it worked. Not as many options, but seemed to keep a little more detail.
I really it. Looks great to me.

I think the OP was referring to Adobe Camera Raw (ACR).

Nice photo. When working in my studio I almost always shoot for HDR and use Photomatix Pro, except when doing portrait work. I find HDR is great for bringing out subtle details. However, I also see a lot of photos over using the HDR programs to the point where they look almost cartoonish. I'm glad to see you didn't go there.
I am a big fan of Photomatix. But I've been using ACR for along time and it has come a long way if playing with a RAW image. ACR is my post processing starting point.
But when there is a real difficult lighting situation, Photomatix is my choice.

Yes, I'm a big fan of Photomatix as well. Also a big fan of ACR, and I think it gets a raw deal as it stands in the shadow of Lightroom (although it's almost identical).
My typical work flow when doing HDR is Photomatix then ACR, then Photoshop. When not doing HDR then just ACR, then Photoshop. (And using Bridge, of course, to cull, organize, and launch).
I may plan to use ACR a little more, (in place of Photomatix) to combine images in the future.
I hate the halos around the trees and buildings you see in a lot of Photomatix images. You don't see that here. Nice photo.

I agree. That being said Photomatix have greatly improved over the years. I like it to help help with EV levels when I struggle with ACR. The key is 'help out'. And yes, there was a time when I could over do it.
