I'm a 78 year old retiree who lives in the Muskoka region of Ontario, an area so beautiful it is almost impossible not to take a great picture.
I've been playing around with photography since I was 13 but can't say I miss the darkroom.
I shoot with a Canon Rebel, usually landscapes but also candid shots and patterned subjects. (My old Pentaxes, Rolleiflex, Speed Graphic and Retina have become bric-a-brac.)
I also do video but I am not as serious about it as my still work.
There is video posted on YouTube under "rps19." My stills are on Flickr under "Dick Smyth"

Hey Dick... Barrie, Ontario here. Love all of the Muskokas, and Bracebridge is a truly great town. Welcome to the forum... there's a lot to share here. I look forward to seeing your pics.

Hi... This looks like a very interesting site indeed. Already wasted more time on it today than I can afford.
We get to Barrie now and then although the traffic is getting to be as bad as Toronto's.
One minor point :-)
Please don't call it "the Muskokas." There's only one Muskoka and that (and "cottage country") is a sore point with those of us fortunate enough to live up here.

We've just had our first significant snowfall. Nothing lovelier than a snowy morning in Muskoka.
Are you still in the UK?
I'm just back recently from a week of hiking in Yorkshire. First time for me in that part of the UK although I have been in England many times.
Welcome....Toronto here i'm 78 as well, spend a lot of time up in Huntsville and area....

Hi Dick,
Whitby, ON here.
When I was a kid, Bala was my happy home away from home.
I recently shot as few at Stubb's Falls. I am looking forward to Photographing the Waterfalls of Bracebridge when we get some snow.

Welcome RPS. Hope you enjoy the forum. I have fond memories of Bracebridge as a youngster. Is the Santa Claus village still in operation?
