I have been watching videos on using an 85mm prime, a portrait lens, for landscape photos. I decided to use the closest lens I own, a 50mm/1.8, for these photos.

The simple things…a few trees, leaves, and water….a little exercise.

Nikon D7500 with a Nikon 50/1.8.

Both the 50 and 85mm lens are great if you have good feet and legs to zoom with. I love both even with bad knees.

Images #1,3,4,5&6 are very nice!!

Image #2 not so much

Image #1 needs the far shore line straightened

In #1 the far shore line appears to be running at a tangent and should appear to be out of level from an elevated position. Leveling it throws the intermediate shore line out of level which appears to be running more perpendicular to the line of sight. The first version had it right. Very nice picture.

Thank you for taking the time to look at both photos. I had the same thought as what you have just stated. I decided to post both photos so that it can be seen each way.
