Detroit's Concert of Colors, Optimized in Photoshop

90% of my Photoshopping I call “retouching”. What I try to do is “optimize” the image; take out all the distractions and play-up all the good things. In these concert shots I wanted to make them look like you were in the front row at a live event with no one or thing blocking your view or distracting you in the bkg.

Detroit's Concert of Colors, is a free annual diversity-themed music festival featuring global music at its finest in a colorful, festive summer event. Detroit's Concert of Colors is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year in the Detroit Cultural Center area.

And, not only is it musically enlightening and enjoying but it has always offered almost unlimited access to photographers. In many cases you can get front row seats at the stage to take hundreds of shots. All comments welcome. Thanks.

Fantastic series! Amazing energy and colors, with the artists' faces and body language reflecting all that and more.

Yes, these are really great concert photographs, perfectly processed to show the energy and colours to best effect. Top notch stuff! I particularly like the Caribbean dancer and the Punk Rocker.

Seems a front row seat has its advantage. Nicely done.
