Hopefully a sensor cleaning will cure it.
Unfortunately chances are slim, as it was just recently cleaned by the repair shop.
And in anticipation of the next question, the problem was noticed before this last cleaning.

Is it possible they botched the cleaning? Anyway, I wish you luck in solving, hopefully "low cost" luck!!

I'll have to review some recent photos, but I'm pretty sure that the problem was present before I brought it in for cleaning.
I just got off the phone with the repair shop. I'm told that the D750 can sometimes have problems with the shutter, possibly a broken leaf. They say it's more frequently an issue at faster shutter speeds. I'm going to run a more extensive set of test shots at different speeds and with each of my lenses before proceeding.
I don't see any way it won't need service, though. Hopefully it's reparable and affordable, as it's well out of warranty.
UPDATE: Preliminary tests seem to verify their theory. It's definitely more apparent at faster shutter speeds, and begins to fade at around 1/640 to 1/500. I'll have to adjust accordingly for this weekend, unfortunately. Not the best news for someone like myself whose hands seem to be getting less steady, but I suppose it could be a lot worse.

750 had a shutter recall. Check the Nikon site for the serial numbers affected
Turns out that it was the shutter. A tear in one leaf which allowed a bit of light to leak through. Thanks to Drbob and all who tried to help.
