How can Best Buy get them and stores like B&H and Adorama can't? I checked Best Buy here and they said they are SOLD OUT.

Best Buy is a huge chain with warehouses etc. around the country. They get a large number overall. Some stores/sales regions sell out fast, others not so fast and they can shift items from one store or warehouse to another to fill orders within each region.

The message I got from Best Buy is, the one I ordered on 7/13 is ready for pick up. They are out of the R7 body only but can get the R7 with RF-S 18-150 lens. I will be picking it up tomorrow morning. Canon still has them listed as on backorder.

So far, the only thing I miss is the upper display screen, but then several of my cameras don't have them so no big deal. It's fairly small, but not too small for me. I'm currently using adapted EF mount lenses on it, along with the RF kit lens. I'm doing some comparison shooting with my 90D. So far, I like the R7, but IQ wise it's really not much better, if at all, than the 90D, but it is definitely faster and lighter.

I changed my order to one with the kit lens! I don’t really need it, but the kit lens cameras are coming out first. I’m actually enjoying the lens

I picked up the camera and lens adapter on Friday at Best Buy (Langhorne PA), only the SD card was backordered. Big weight difference between my T7i with the 18-135, and the R7 with the 18-150. Adapter wasnt 100% smooth with the Tamron 18-400, but overall worked. Was suprised that it did not come with a built in flash (never noticed while shopping). While I use very little flash, on-camera comes in handy when you need a little more light or back-lit fill-in. I would guess I should purchase a Canon flash, but would want it to be on the small size for ease of transport for those same few times I need a little more light. Anyone have or suggest a particular one on the smaller end flash?

PS Also, as there are so many more features than I'm used to, Wild Alaska's YouTube video on setting it up (especially back button) was extremely helpful ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQwyMzlj1gE )

So far I've used two flash units on my R7, a Canon 320EX and a Canon 270EXII. The 320 is fairly small and the 270 is about half the size of the 320. The 320 is a more versatile unit but if you want small, the 270 will get the job done and it's a better flash than most built in flashes.
Funny, in a way, story; When I 1st ordered the R7 I ordered just the body from Canon and it was placed on back order. I then found that Best Buy was also out of the bodies but had the RF 18-150 kit in stock. I placed an order and thought I cancelled the order with Canon. Apparently, I didn't cancel the original order and now I have 2 R7's.

Hi All: Was concerned that Best Buy was advertising Canon R7's for delivery the weekend of July 16th and 17th as a come on for advance orders. Not so! On July 12th placed an order online for pickup on the 17th, received a text that it was available and obtained it on the 16th! This camera is very intimidating even for me as a 77D user. Have spent several hours on introductory videos. What is the purpose of 2 memory slots? Is there any instructional site to recommend set up for wildlife (primarily bird) photography? Think I will be learning this camera for many years.

I am using San Disk cards. Ended up setting up slot 1 for photos and slot 2 for videos which I believe is the default. During my first week of testing used twin 32 meg. Am now on vacation and am using twin 64s at 130 rate. These cards suit my use very well.

Thank you Kcohen44 for the feedback!
I have extra 32 but will switch to 74 @130
