In August 2022, that serial number will still have to be verified by Adobe to complete the software install. Also, all updates since the software was written to the CD should be downloaded and installed. There's no completely offline island in today's world for today's current software.

Once installed, registered and updated, then an 'island' computer could be used with PSE.

It is possible to complete the activation by another device, such as an iPad or iPhone (or Android equivalent).

Hello there - I have been using Affinity for some time now, though still learning it (coming off PS), and they DO have some options under preferences that will help make it 'so good' for you. There is a setting to change the font to a larger size (not huge, but definitely bigger) and another setting to choose between dark mode, light mode and to follow the OS settings. I was playing with it and using it in light mode felt so weird to me since I've had it in dark mode for so long. And - their tech support is very good too. They would probably be willing to add more text size options in another upgrade. Don't give up on Affinity! :)

I can run all my subscriptions without the internet. I think maybe the OP has a metered connection and wants to avoid additional bandwidth as it is costly. We do not all live where there the internet is easily available.

I don't know enough to name specific editors, but subscription versions are definitely ruled out

My recommendation is acquiring a recent version of Photoshop V.12 + as part of Creative Suite, install on a High-resolution iMac running MacOS 10.13 or previous NONE of the operating system versions from 10.14 (Mojave) and up support printing from Photoshop. All recent OS upgrades break an existing Photoshop install and force migration to the subscription model. Hate it.

I recommend you (and many others) read the OP's post: "apply it to pc’s not online", then answer his question.

Adobe has subscription products and a non subscription product called PhotoShop Elements, mentioned above.

There a numerous nonsubscription options, probably including free software you can download from the website of your digital camera brand. Usually, if you find the 'support' page for your specific model on their site, there will be a software & downloads tab where you can find this software.

If you haven't bought anything, consider the trial period offer for any candidate software title generated by this post. Use one-at-a-time for the entire trial period, including the available training, possibly always against the same set of 20 to 100 images. Make an informed decision that hopefully gets it right the first time. Consider the online documentation and free video training (u-tube) in the context of your trial-period comparisons.

This is odd. Adobe is offering PS for $239.88 a year, $19.99 a month. How is that different from the $10/month plan? I thought that gave you both LR and PS.

Welcome to our forum!

That's a good question. If you buy the program outright, rather than renting it, you should be able to use it without registering it. The company usually wants to confirm that it is a legitimate copy, though, and for that, you have to send them a valid serial number. Your best bet is to contact customer support and ask them.

Here's my collection of processing links.

More cloud storage is the difference, what a waste.

Ah. All my storage is right here. If the house burns down, losing my pictures won't even be a consideration.

I’m new here. I have a question and I hope to get help here. Is there an editing system where I can purchase the software and apply it to pc’s not online?

Welcome aboard!!!
I really like PhotoScape X (Free) For Win or Mac
PhotoScapeX can be used accurately with 3 or 4 clicks or you can REALLY get into serious editing. Here are a couple of sites for you, Enjoy. Be sure to select Mac/or Windows. Get the free version (just below the "Pro" download) first (it never expires), and you can always upgrade. Also, please do yourself a favor and watch the following YouTube videos to see if you would be interested for training. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWC-SAuYOzw&t=325s Instruction and download info http://x.photoscape.org/

Maybe I am off base here, however, if you purchased the software at public computer and saved the program to a DVD. Then activated the DVD online with the public computer.
The provided a hard copy DVD for the off line PC, would have never had to be online.

PS: I also recommend ON1 2022.5 with built-in No Noise and Resize, as a one time purchase.

The question was about photo editing software. I agree that I prefer buying software that does not need a subscription to use. I also however would like my photo editing software to also be linked with a library functionality. So are any of these recommendations included in software that has a library capability???

I use Macintosh software and hardware. I currently use Photos on the Mac and it is my library photo software and my limited editing software. What I find I do is very little editing but more culling of bad photos and limited touch up. Very few photos get serious editing.

Affinity Photo is my recommendation. By the way, you can change the dark interface by going to "Exit", "Preferences", "User Interface" and chose "Light". The program defaults to the "Dark" interface

Affinity Designer is also pretty nifty if you are into that.

I have used IrfanView (freeware) for decades, and then sent the author a tip for all the years I used it totally free. I use MS Paint for some cloning, etc. --Riichard
