I've heard a lot about Topaz denoise and wonder if I should take advantage of this sale. There is also a Sony code to reduce bundle by $125... I shoot Sony a7iii. Mostly travel and landscapes, some macro. I am just a hobby photographer but do print some for myself. Would like to make bigger than 8x10 prints.

I have not made the leap to Lightroom yet. Use Luminar 4, bought Neo too but have not had time to work with it (moved recently!). (I recently bought a variable ND filter to use on a trip to Iceland, but am thinking I may not really need it so kind of regret that purchase...so hesitate to make another photography purchase that I don't really need. Am on a budget and so $150 is a lot of money to me. I know this is an expensive hobby....just trying to determine how useful the bundle would be to me. I understand "need" is very subjective! Upgrades coming soon will be free to anyone who purchases the bundle, as I understand it...)

Thanks for any insights.

I bought their full package of products (all eight(8)) a few years ago and buy their annual upgrade on their Black Friday sale.

I use their DeNoise, Sharpen and GigaPixel packages on a daily basis. I've used their Video Enhance on a whole lot of ancient home videos with reasonable success. JPG to RAW is handy and does a good job of getting rid of JPG artifacts. The remainder of the products I have used sporadically.

Topaz does a good job of adding features to their products and their customer service at least exists as compared to some software developers.

If you want to see why Topaz Sharpen AI is worth the money, look at the image on this thread an page 1 and the sharpened version on page 2. Turned a throw-away into a good image - ‘nuff said… https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-747104-2.html

Really good question and some great answers. I am looking at their products that work on video. I have old (ancient) regular 8mm home movies I am working on. I see improvement. Interesting company/interesting products. I even know where Salida is and that your (new) town is only about 3 hours (for you East Coasters) and about 150 miles from me.

Right! There are so many courses on ‘learning LR’ that it makes it seem difficult. I’ve managed to figure out lots of Luminar features and am sure I can with LR too. I just don’t like the subscription ‘bullet!’ Ha!

Where might you be? We like Salida. Could use a movie theater and a camera store! Ha!

I was happy with my Topaz as it was ... then came along Topaz AI and I was hooked on the magic

Other programs can take a photo that is so noisy and grainy that it looks like a scattering of sand and make it into a hi-resolution photo !! Others you verbally tell what the photo is and it gathers parts and puts you on an elephant riding backward if that is what you tell it. Then there is a Dr. Frankenstine like Google Deepdreams that monsters your photo with dogs etc when there were none.

We live in a magic AI time we live in a time of robotics that learns with AI... beware...

"I have not made the leap to Lightroom yet.... I need to bite the bullet and learn LR." dbfalconer, why complicate your life with Lightroom? Old and expensive over the year.

George Eastman and Kodak never meant nor dreamed for this AI revolution to happen. Kodak invented the first digital camera and like car companies and electric cars... rejected the idea... Kodak management said, "but we make film."

Indeed. Hard to keep up with all the changes…and select ones worth dealing with. Thanks.

I'm in what used to be the "best" Denver suburb. Aurora. Lived here 50+ years. Nice people. Great climate. 4 seasons. You know that we always schedule a blizzard any time the Broncos are on Monday Nite Football so all the people in CA think it "must really snow there." "I'll move where it doesn't snow". But you know that -- you were in the second best 'burb. Bet you get "a bit more snow" now in your "new" town than in your former town. You know cameras and I bet you can press a button on the new digital movie projection. You could do both -- and loose twice as much money?
When I need to learn a new program -- I use the company's tutorial and You Tube instruction. I do about 15-20 minutes instruction and then take a 45 minute break and do "chores" -- then come back to more instruction. Works for me -- lets the ole brain rest and absorb new stuff.

I am a Lr/Ps user and I bought these aps when the net price was @ $85 near xmas. I bought the to try them out and because a good friend swore by them. I find little difference from what I already have in Lr and do not intend to renew at the end of the year. YMMV. Best of luck.

Thanks! If I decide to go for it after a 30-day trial, I’ll watch for sales. Not in any rush.

We liked Littleton just fine—5yrs—much easier winters than our many yrs in Michigan. Actually, Salida is in the ‘banana belt’: snow melts away quickly, stays good for skiing at Monarch 20 min away! But don’t tell anyone! We could do with less wind….but the views are great! I watered the potted plants outside today—so now it is pouring rain!

Discounts on Topaz products can be "stacked", if something is on sale a discount coupon can be used to reduce the sale price further.

Topaz also seems to rotate sales on individual products (or they used to). Denoise for a month or two, then Sharpen, then GigaPixel, etc. If you've bought individual products and decide to buy a package, the package price is automatically reduced to not include the products you have.

Purchased last Thanksgiving last when they reduced the price to $85, you can probably expect a similar reduction this November.
