More importantly: never spend money on photography 'training' until you've exhausted all the freely available training on youtube and elsewhere. ABSOLUTELY...However, I did like Tony and Chelsea's courses. But, ya...I totally agree with Mr. Canon......(mic drop)

It would be interesting to see a discussion of which of thephotographic workshops provide the most bang for your buck, but probably couldn't be done here without us sliding into libel and slander.

When I give one on one coaching, no one has ever been disappointed.

The work he is doing to document creatures in captivity is commendable and your purchase of his Great Courses offering in even a small way helps that effort. Thank you.

My personal habits for video training (workshops?) have been Matt Kloskowski, Julie Ann Kost (Adobe), Terry White (also Adobe) and Anthony Morganti (YouTube). But there are a lot more that I've spent less time with.

Thanks, but what I was thinking about was onsite workshops where spend a day or more at specific location with a photographer (and probably additional staff) and they provide on site guidance and critique in the evening.

I'm posting this as a caution about signing on with Andrea Magri for a photo course.

I've signed up for a several online photo courses - lynda.com, etc., and they've been great. On June 24, I accepted an offer of a GoPro course from Andrea Magri - "The GoPro Handbook was written by Andrea Magri, an Italian filmmaker, longterm GoPro user, and head writer at Project GoPro" - for $37. It seemed to offer a lot, the price was good, and I could get a "no questions asked" refund if I wasn't satisfied.

Unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied. I received a 138-page PDF and a lot of links. Some of the links didn't work, and others required a subscription to use them. The processing tutorials were limited to Adobe Premiere and Apple's Final Cut, neither of which I use. I didn't want to spend $37.50 for a PDF, so I requested a refund. It took a while, but PayPal said I was getting a refund. A few days later, the refund was canceled. I contacted Andrea, and he apologized and said the refund was sent again. It didn't even make an appearance on PayPal. After waiting a week or more, I posted on his YouTube pages that I hadn't received the refund. Yesterday, he sent me an email saying the refund was sent, and it appears on PayPal. I'm hoping it goes through this time.

Maybe my experience was unique but think twice before sending him your money.

I've taken the whole online course of the New York Institute of Photography. Great set of lessons and critiques by photographers such as Chuck DeLaney and Cris Corradino. There are 12 segments dicussing all aspects of photography with many assignments for types of photo techniques. Very good course!

Yes, that is excellent. I bought too many of those courses. I recorded them and gave the originals to the library.

Here are some free photo courses they offer.

Shortly after I purchased my Canon EOS 90D – I decided to lean all the bells & whistle on my new camera. I had three previous Canon EOS xxD DSLRs. Back then I thought that it was time to learn this stuff, but the task seemed daunting, subsequently I never learned how to use my camera to the full extent of the features on it.

At the time of getting my Canon 90D I discovered tons of videos on YouTube. My first task I learned all about the exposure triangle – I have that down pretty good – still need to refine it. Next step was the Back Button Focus – I basically have that down need to continue “learning” that feature. I am about to step into Fill/Flash. It’s all an ongoing process.

Don’t waste your money. I am retired and I can utilize that $$$ on things like batteries, sd cards, etc.
