That, coupled with the largely positive R7 reviews, spells “be patient” for prospective buyers. Sigh….

Not sure about the future, but I ordered and received an R7 from Campus Camera and another one from Hunt Camera. I had one ordered at B&H and it was to be delivered but I canceled the order after I received the above mentioned cameras.
Key is to just get on the lists of different camera companies; most allow you to cancel up until the time of shipment and most do not charge your credit card until the camera ships.

If you are looking for one now, try Best Buy. They are sold out of the body only version but can get you a kit by 30 July. I was able to pick one up at my local best buy a couple of weeks ago. They had 1 in stock. They also had the ef-rf adapter with control ring. I have been very happy with my purchase. I really didnt need the kit lens as I have a lot of L lens, but it is very light and produced very sharp images. I was plesently surprised.

I ordered the R7 body from Canon and it was backordered. I then bought the kit from Best Buy. I thought I cancelled my order with Canon, but apparently I didn't because the body I ordered was delivered to my house. I now have two of them.
