Sue, is there a story to go with this beautiful image or a place to get more information about "Her"? She is beautiful. Thanks for posting this.

Really stunning! Did you do some focus stacking, or was the DOF accomplished with just a very small aperture?

No on both counts - I used f/8 but was standing in a good position.

Very dramatic. Except for the kid, it evokes an earlier era in American transporation history.

Sue, I found some info on Chesapeake and Ohio 2-6-6-2 #1309 and her restoration with a nice video. She belongs to the Western Maryland Scenic Railway. I am so glad you posted this today. The link in the article is for Facebook, but it seems to work whether you have Facebook or not. What a beautiful Engine!

Thank you for this post again Sue. I have had a photo of this engine above my work bench for a few years, and I have been trying to build an HO Model Railroad like I had way back in 1961 when I enlisted in the US Army. I have wanted another one ever since then. I'll be 80 this coming January, and I hope I can get it working before it's too late for me to be a kid again for awhile. They do make an HO Model of this engine, and I just might have to get one.

So glad you liked this! A friend and I were visiting this site while our husbands were attending a Presbytery meeting in a nearby town. We wanted to take the train ride but found it would not finish in time for us to pick them up, so Husband and I are hoping to return in October when the leaves have changed. BTW - when I picked him up he was shocked to find the outside temperature to be in the high 90's after spending the day in an airconditioned church - my friend and I were outside the whole time in that heat - LOL!!!

That's a photographer's train - runs up to Frostburg, MD with stops along the way so all can get off and shoot the train as it comes and goes. Beautiful sound if you are doing video. I did a Saturday and Sunday - Saturday still shots, Sunday videos.

One participant buried his camera with the lens pointing upward so he could get the underside as the train passed overhead.

Stops for lunch in Frostburg, uses the roundtable then goes back to Cumberland with stops along the way - shooting now from the other side of the tracks.
