We've discussed this here before. There was an item on the evening news about bogus online reviews. A minor online electronics company advertised on Craig's List to pay anyone $50 to write a good online review of their business. They were found out and fined - and made the evening news. So much for getting publicity.
This reminds me of people who look for hit men on Craig's List. Not too smart.

I've never been to the site, but I understand it is something like ebay, except without the auction. I think people list items and services they are offering or seeking.
I've heard too many bad things about it. When meeting the seller you should do it in a public location, don't give out personal info, etc. I wasn't kidding about hit men being bought on Craig's List.
Jerry, Craigs List is all over the country on the internet. You are correct. It is simply a list of items or services for sale broken down to each locale. Unlike ebay, delivery or pickup is local. As with any other "contact" internet source, caution is certainly wise.
Craigs list is just like the newspaper 'want ads' but online.
Kind of like a flea market.

For me, it's a "flee" market. I avoid it.

Hey Doc ..... eBay has a financial interest in Craigslist

You could treat Craigs list as a gray market, you may get it and you may not. It may work and it may not. You will be a long time getting your money back, or you may not. So its up to you.

Hey Doc ..... everybody needs a couple of fleas, or wants to get rid of some .....
Craigslist is akin to a message board with "what ever" for sale. cars, trucks, household goods, camera's. apartments for rent, free stuff (firewood in the nj , ny)
Not a bad place to shop for local deals.
However, be protected, be prepatred to meet in public place.
I have used this service before ( free) and have had no problems. There have been reports of people being robbed.
I have a back up friend in the area, but not obvious.
Meet in a mall parking lot, conduct the trans action and go about your day.

ebay is getting its claws into everything. Watch out! :D
Craigslist is great for buying and selling things locally. It is a free classified service. I use it often and sell things that I'd otherwise be junking. All my sales are person to person. Things usually sell within a day or two.
I also use it looking for things to buy like motorcycles and camp trailers. It has many more than are in the newspaper because it is free and newspaper classifieds have gotten expensive.
With high value things; e.g. cars, you might get solicitations from crooks and resellers. I add to my posts that I'll only talk to people who show up in person. That stops most of it.
