Generally speaking I don't have much luck either because they are so skittish OR the background is not good for a decent photo. I fully admit these photos fall into the second part of that sentence. The background was terrible, angle was terrible and the lighting was worse yet. But he and I were both there and I was hoping for something successful with his scales showing. That part worked out fairly well.

Thanks jederick. I appreciate your comment. Yes they are good for keeping the bugs down. I like having them around so long as they do not approach the size of a Komodo dragon. Then I will have to get one of the big guns out.
