The South Pond is one of the oldest features that remains from the original 1835 design for Chicago's Lincoln Park (originally named Lake Park). The area surrounding South Pond is landscaped with turf grass, elms, maples, and other trees, with benches along the boardwalk that circles the pond.

The pond’s planted edge provides bio-filtration of the site’s stormwater run-off. Visitors discover a series of educational zones along the boardwalk loop made from recycled plastic.

Eastern Amberwing Most of a dragonfly's life is spent as a nymph, beneath the water's surface, where they prey on mosquito larvae, tadpoles, and small fish. The nymph stage lasts up to five years in large species, and between two months and three years in smaller species. When ready to metamorphose into an adult, the nymph climbs up a reed out of the water and moults. We see a leftover shell below this Blue dasher.
Blue Dasher The Halloween Pennant ranges as far north as southern Canada and as far west as the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains. It lives in wet habitat types such as ponds, marshes and lakes, where it perches on vegetation.

You've put together a good set. That Eastern Amberwing is the smallest of Dragon Flies - about an inch in length.
