This image, that I treasure, is from my father and my youngest son during a conversation. My father passed away over 5 years ago at age 103 and my son is already 50 and he is a lieutenant for the City of Miami Fire Department here in South Florida.
I made the image at a local restaurant where we were having a family reunion. I was using a D70s with the 18-55 kit lens and a D600 speedlight that I bounced off from one of the walls. If I remember accurately I shot at ISO 800 cleaning the noise with Topaz Denoise in post.
A simple image full of emotional value to me.

I anticipate you will treasure the photo "forever" - did you print and frame?
Believe it or not I have neglected printing this image but...not anymore. Printing of the image is in progress.
Thank you for stopping by.

Sincerity, respect and love captured by a photograph. Photography is primarily for people. Aren't you glad you didn't give into the "it's too much bother" to take the camera along and use it.
This happened a few years ago when my father turned 100. I knew we will not have him forever and he was beginning to have serious health issues like glaucoma and cataract. My father used to walk and exercise for a couple of hours each morning, getting many times up before daylight. For that reason he was involved in two accidents, in one of them he had a fracture of the clavicle while with the second one he had a fractured femur that required surgery. The old man did great in spite of those injuries.
You are right, during some of our family reunion I heve neglected taking the camera with me. I am glad I did take it that day.
Thank you for your nice comments.
Dodie, the print that is coming had those objects cloned. I thank you for your useful suggestion and for taking the time to look at this image.
I thank everybody for the very nice comments.

Thank you Ron for commenting. In my humble opinion those objects were a distraction. One of them is white, which immediately attracts the eye.
Although they look natural in an image in this one they distract from the main subjects, which are my son and his grandfather.

He was ninety-eight and you can telll from the expression on hour son's ace, the respect he had or his grandfather. I'm only ninety-three but my grandchildren amor me to make me feel appreciated. I still use my D70s but I let the camera choose the iso, and the 18-200 VRii lens gives me latitude. I recently bought the Nikon Z6 and my grandson won awards or a production in which he used the Z camera for stills.
A wonderful shot William - well done!
And a great image at that!
We all have shots that we treasure but didn't realize it when taken. I'm so glad that I've always walked around with a camera.
Excellent shot and treasure, William.
Yes, that photo says a lot. Most young people today are not interested in advice from elders. They have Google for all their needs.

That picture is a treasure that your son will want to hang on his wall someday, William.
The expression on your son's face is priceless.
