I'm a little undecided yet on using "Don't Quit Your Day Job". I think that they probably been overused, but isn't that what we do now in Our Country? I believe that we all overuse certain phrases, but I don't care as long as I get a Response like You just did here. I did quit my day job, but I sure did secure my Financial Future with a Great Retirement. Plus, while my Friends were out blowing their money on Clubbing, I invested my Coin and built something so I could quit my day job as you put it. But, I would really appreciate it if you could give me some more tips on phrases that I can use in the future.

Thinking that pixels cost money- a bad habit left over from the film days- don't waste any frames- make sure every frame counts.

Respectfully, that's not a bad habit. Unless you are shooting BIFs or other fast action stuff it is a GOOD habit to thoughtfully consider all the things that will make the difference between a good photograph and a snapshot! And, as much as possible, with the fast action stuff also!

Mine is filling the frame. Back when I was first learning photography, the teacher encouraged us to "fill the frame". He wanted us to make bold statements -- get close to the subject and fill the frame with your main subject. This carries over to haunt me at times. I have to make myself back off a step or two and leave more space around my subject than when I first start to shoot. With 45 mpx. to use, I can always crop to attain the look I want so there is no reason to shoot as close as I do at times. I find this problem usually occurs when shooting flowers. I want to isolate a single flower and will zoom in to eliminate an adjacent flower. It would be perfectly fine to get that second flower in the shot and then crop it out in PP. What one thing would you like to correct when shooting?

Using the camera’s auto setting way too much AND not adjusting the exposure triangle (ISO, Aperture, and Speed) enough to get alternate prefect results. Recognizing this is not using or exploring the full range of the camera’s capabilities…..working on it!

Forgetting that in the digital age I can shoot at higher ISO what I used to in film! During film days mainly B&W press I never shot higher than 400 ASA/ISO even then I preferred 200ASA as max due to grain! During a trip in Namibia around 2018 I started to work on some of my shots taken in the upper Swakopmund River and noticed that they are not sharp! The info on the shot showed 100ISO/F8/and at a VERY slow shutter speed thus, not lack of sharpness but rather major shake!!

Mine is shooting in JPEG auto for the quicker shot and then go to the next "quick shot" . Then hopeing
for maybe 1-2 out of 10 for review and possibly framing.
Now I shoot solo without any distraction from impatient fellow travelers who could care less about the art
of real photography. To them, cell phone photos are all they ever do.

Batteries is something I never run out of. I have an extra supply plus a charger that I always take with me. I've traveled to Europe and I have a charger with me at all times. Running out of batteries makes no sense to me.
