Before I got my Z9 I shot Football & Soccer games with D5 & 500 with 24-70 & 70-200mm f2.8 lenses. Worked out just fine

Depends how close you are to the action. If im down on the field I ptefer my 70-200 but if im back aways i grab the 200-500. I prefer the 70-200 though

I absolutely love my Sigma 60-600. I second the opinion that it will meet your needs. If you find it heavy, a monopod will make all the diffeence.
