Somebody really loves their MG both driving it and maintaining it. Beautiful work, thanks for sharing this.

It was in excellent condition BurghByrd. Looks like he spends a lot of time and $$$ on it. Thanks for viewing.

Here's a shot of one I took recently in Matera, Italy. One of the nicest TD's I've seen.

That is also a beauty Bob.

Took these today at St. Armands Circle in Sarasota, Fl. This car has been driven 120,000 miles since 2000.
Enjoy.

Cool machine! Since you have an account, you might correct the guy that stated it was converted to 12 volt...MG's and most Brit cars have been 12 volt since the late 30's. That guy has some $$ tied up in that one. I bet he either has an aftermarket electric overdrive or put MGA differential gears in it. Cruising speed on the flat with standard gearing is about 55.....

Great MG photos! They were in the shop a lot but when they were on the road, there was nothing quite like them.

Thanks for viewing and the info on the electrical system Kaylen. It looked like a very well maintained vehicle.

Yes, that was a knock on English vehicles. Mostly electrical system repair from what I understand. Thanks for viewing and commenting AviRoad.

Interesting, the β€˜56 Cadillac was the first mass produced American car with a 12V system, practically everyone else switched over for the β€˜57 model year.

Many British cars and motorcycles had Lucas electrical systems. They were so unreliable and problematic that many people referred to Lucas as β€œThe Prince of Darkness” because of its propensity for the lights to fail at night. Brit bike manufacturers wised up in the late 70s and switched to Japanese Denso systems. No more walking home in the dark.
