Okay, I have to ask....
Does the S21 series save HEIC files or just JPEG, or is it selectable as to what file type(s) are saved.

This was a HEIC file. Not sure if is selectable since I by pass the phone and retrieve the files directly from its memory. My only editor that reads HEIC at the moment is Neo.

I'll have to peruse my phone to see what I get/can get.
I believe none of my current editors can work with an HEIC file.

S21 picture format update:
HEIC is selectable as an "added" picture format to save, default is JPEG.
Maybe I now need to investigate looking into an editor that will accommodate HEIC files.
We'll see.

Also, in the Pro mode there is an option to save raw and jpg simultaneously...raw is a dng file. If you have the time and know what you are doing, this is the best shooting mode, although jpg is nearly as good without any effort.

My S21 (not Ultra) will allow saving either JPEG or JPEG+HEIC.
The choice is simply in the setup menu (Tools) under "Picture Formats", independent of using the "Pro" mode setting for taking pictures. Pro mode simply appears to be "not auto".
I have not saved an HEIC yet to see the resultant extension.
One of these days I'll spend a few hours figuring out what it can do other than point-n-click.

You get more options with an Ultra?
