The textures and patterns of #1 are striking!

I thought the same of the feather. Thanks
Fran
Great work as both are very visually stimulating.
Very nice work, Fran! You are really flexing your artistic side.
For me, they are both interesting images for different reasons. #1 is mesmorizing. Generally, I'm not a huge fan of abstract art. Most likely it's because I don't understand it. When I see an abstract image like #1 that I like I have to study it to try and figure out why I like it so much. It's a frustrating exercise most of the time and in the end, I just accept the fact that I like it and move on. Moving on to #2. I really like this image. For me, the gold flecks against the black and white brings it to life. My only subjective comment is I would like to see a little more defintion of the lower part of the quill. Again, both are good images with #2 being my favorite.

Fstop, Thanks so much for the compliment and the suggestion on number 2. I like abstract art, but not all of it. . For me, if it has yo have some interesting structure, movement or texture. I think that is why I was drawn to the feather and subsequently felt it would make a good abstract subject.
