I have my credit cards set to take their monthly payment automatically in case I forget to pay off the balance. I paid off Bank of America, but they took a $25 payment anyway, leaving me with a credit. It took almost half an hour on the phone to get that refunded. I've stopped that automatic payment. That's the only card that does that. If there's no balance on the others, they don't take a payment. It's almost as if BofA wants to get all the money it can!

They do!!!

Once many years ago they took over a week to process a payment I mailed in two weeks ahead of the due date.
They charged me a late fee.
I cancelled the card.
I've no business with BOA anymore.

When I moved in 1982 I got a bank account for the new location. In the 35 years I lived there my account had the same number, but with 4 different banks. My bank kept getting bought out by another one. About two years before I moved again the bank was bought by BofA. All of a sudden there were fees for all sorts of things that never had fees before. I switched to a credit union and dropped BofA. They will really have to work to get me as a customer again.

Funny I have BofA for about 14 years now and I never had to pay any fee. I do not put on automatic payment though.

We have a checking account that pays our utilities and internet/DirecTV payments. It is a great idea.

We dropped B of A when their ugly teller ate my card and folks at that branch refused to do anything about it! 😬. And, I mean ANYTHING!

I was with B of A, Beverly Hills branch, years ago, but they were so bad I quit them and haven't even thought about them since. I was in the bank frequently, and every time it seemed that several of the tellers no longer were there, replaced by new ones. I couldn't deal with their mistakes - and attitude!

I opened a "free" checking account with the local BofA because I was working for a woman who paid me with checks from that bank. I got a $20 service charge. I closed the account and opened another "free" one. Same thing. I went to a different branch, and the manager turned out to be a relative of a guy I went to school with. I explained the situation, and he apologized and opened a new account for me. Again, $20 in fees. I was eventually able to open a free account, but BofA had taken $60 of my money. I bank with a credit union - no fees for anything and very low interest on loans.

I don't know that it was the fault of the bank - but - I was in the Beverly Hills BofA just before closing time, and the teller I was dealing with (pretty girl) asked me if I could give her a ride home - to Pasadena. Of course, I told her I would. As we exited the bank ----- we were met by her husband!, with a gun!!, pointed at me!!! He didn't shoot me; I told him she had asked me to take her home, and didn't tell me she was married. Turns out she wanted to make him jealous!!! Again, I suppose I couldn't blame the bank for that one.

Women! Can't live without them, and sometimes, you can't live with them. I no longer give beautiful young women a ride when they ask me. Well, they haven't actually asked me yet, but...

I didn't lose any money with BofA but I did lose a few hundred bucks in fee from the Texas Credit Union. I only have the account for a couple of months. I was real bad.

Refinanced my house with Wells Fargo a few years back through a special promotion they offered. Noticed my account being drained. Upon investigation someone had put in a wrong date and the computer was taking a payment a day to catch up to the proper date. Hours on the phone, bank manager in tears to correct. Cancelled as soon as I could. That sure would pay off any mortgage in a short time!

The problem is that it would not pay off your mortgage but rather incur overdraft which they will charge you dearly for.
