I use it. Like you I used the free version for many a year then there was an offer to try the pro. version. I took it - 3 or 5 licenses for machines all based at the same premises. Gives you a few more tools, does the same joib, but supposedly better.

Get the trial. A lot depends on your relationship with tech (and from what I see you're streets ahead of me) but I find bothe easy and convenient to use.

I use CCleaner every time I uninstall a program on any of my two Windows laptops and desktop to clean up the registry. I always save a registry backup before proceeding with the cleaning. I don’t know how many years I’ve been doing that but I’ve never experienced an issue.

I cleaned Windows completely 15 years ago. The registry was their (MS) biggest boondoggle ever. I switched to Linux and never looked back. No need to purchase all the programs required to use Windose. No need to buy new versions of anything. Utilities to accomplish anything including formatting, partitioning, much more. A wide choice of programs available for any activity.

Same! For many years I have ran CC Cleaner regularly - every few days - and use the registry cleaner every few months. Never had any problem with it. I am so tempted to upgrade from the free version, but man! The last thing I need is another subscription!

Do any of you use the CCleaner subscription? I just ran the free version - with no problems revealed - and it showed how I could put thirty-five other programs to sleep and ease the workload on the computer. It would cost me $35 annually to do that, though.

It also found 102 Registry issues that it could correct - without paying, I think. I hesitate to mess with the registry, though. From what I've seen online, it's not worth the trouble.

Opinions?

I've used the Pro version of CCleaner, Speccy, Recuva and Defraggler for years. Very useful bundle of software.

I've used CCleaner to clean all my computers, keep the Registry polished and my drivers up to date with absolutely no problems!

Speccy runs full time on my 2nd monitor to keep an eye on CPU, memory and disk temperatures.

Recuva has saved my bacon when I accidentally delete files or have a faulty drive.

Defraggler is not used much since I moved to SSD drives but I still use it on external hard drives.

I have used CCleaner for many years now, including cleaning up the registry. I’ve never had any problems with it.

Jerryc41,

I use the paid version of CCleaner and Malwarebytes on PCs and laptops. I've used them for years. The free versions I have used for over two decades previously. I never had a problem with either version or program. I clean my registries at least once a week without issue. I haven't made a backup of the registry prior to cleaning in more than 20 twenty years and never had a problem with the registries or anything else the programs did for me. I highly recommend both of them.

I used to run CCleaner on my computers years ago. However, I have read multiple articles from "experts" that say the registry does not need to be "cleaned" and to take the approach of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I stopped using registry cleaners and have not had any problems as a result.
