Thanks for the reply JR, but my mistake I searched Google ,But what I should have said was a ML-L3, as I already have one (not a Nikon) that screws into the multi pin socket and was looking for a one piece unit. Thanks and regards.

The D800 will not use IR any remotes without an adapter.
